Glazes

Glazes

Ceramic (kéramos, which in Greek means "clay") is an inorganic material, very ductile in its natural state but rigid after the firing phase. With this material Marioni produces high quality furnishing accessories which are then subsequently glazed. The glaze is a fusible coating that stabilizes at a high temperature (from 900 to 960°C) and which allows the clay to be protected from oxidation, liquids and acids. The chemical composition is similar to that of glass, as it is formed by a mixture of silica, sodium carbonate or potassium. We offer a selection of thirty-five solid-color glossy glazes finishes, four brush decorations on glazed background, two treatments with precious metals and about twenty transparent colored crystallines. On request it is possible to create special glazes even for small quantities.
