Circular & Sustainable Made in Italy project

4/2/2024

We are pleased to announce that during the Milan Design Week at the Base in Milano space DiDa will present the Circular and Sustainable Made in Italy project which aims to strengthen and enhance local craftsmanship, emphasizing the sustainability of its production models through the use of immersive communication strategies. Recognizing that the essence and value of craftsmanship lies not only in the quality and uniqueness of products but also in the richness of the stories they tell, the project aims to use advanced storytelling techniques to more deeply connect consumers with the artisanal process and its sustainable principles. Through the application of logics, methods and tools specific to transformative design, the project aims to raise public awareness on issues of social and environmental sustainability, leveraging the power of extended reality (XR) technologies - which include augmented reality (AR ), virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR) – and analogue communication design solutions to create a narrative system that is complete, complex and effective at the same time. The goal is to exploit the immersive capacity of XR technologies to make the stories of local craftsmanship not only more accessible but also more engaging and transformative. These experiences, enriched by elements of communication design, allow us to convey powerful stories that connect the past, present and future of craftsmanship, while promoting greater awareness and appreciation for sustainability. Marioni is among the companies invited to participate and will make its creative and innovative skills available to researchers and partners to achieve the objectives.
