"RISTI-MI" PROJECT ON LCA

"RISTI-MI" PROJECT ON LCA

1/23/2025

Marioni has always been committed to environmental protection and compliance with regulations. For this reason, it has decided to participate in the project, funded by the PNRR, called RISTI_MI - which involves collaboration between research institutions and businesses from across the country, with the aim of innovating processes and products that are respectful of our ecosystem.

We will assess the impact of new technologies in the field of artistic ceramics about LCA (Life Cycle Assessment). Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a methodology used to evaluate the environmental impact of a product, process, or service throughout its entire life cycle, from the extraction of raw materials to final disposal. This approach evaluates the resources used and the emissions generated at each stage of the life cycle, including production, distribution, use, and disposal. In our sector, LCA is crucial due to the complexity of production processes and the wide range of raw materials involved. We will work on different issues:

-Selection of raw materials: Life Cycle Assessment helps evaluate the environmental impact of the raw materials used in ceramic production.

-Optimization of production processes: LCA identifies the stages of the life cycle that contribute most to the overall environmental impact.

-Reduction of emissions: Life Cycle Assessment can help identify sources of greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants throughout the ceramic process.

-Assessment of the life cycle of ceramic products: Life Cycle Assessment goes beyond production, considering the use and final disposal of ceramic products.

Timeline: 12 months, with an expected conclusion in October 2025.
